GasBuddy

Privacy Policy

What we collect

GasBuddy is a fuel price app. To show you nearby stations we use your device location while the app is open. We do not store your location on our servers.

If you submit a price report we save the station, fuel type, and price along with a random anonymous identifier. We do not link this to your name, email, or device ID.

If you subscribe to GasBuddy Plus, our payment provider RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase identifier from Apple or Google so we can verify your subscription on this device.

Third parties

Supabase hosts our station and price database. Receives only the anonymous price reports described above.

Google AdMob shows banner ads to free users. AdMob may use your advertising identifier to show relevant ads. You can choose not to share it via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

RevenueCat manages subscription receipts. Receives only purchase metadata from Apple or Google.

Sentry receives crash reports so we can fix bugs. We strip request headers before sending.

Data sources

Fuel price data is supplied by UK retailers under the Competition and Markets Authority open data scheme. We display this data and your reported corrections. We are not the source.

Your choices

Decline location: the app will still launch but will not show nearby stations. You can grant access later in iOS or Android settings.

Decline ad tracking: tap “Ask App Not to Track” on the Apple prompt. Ads still appear but are less personalised.

Subscribe to GasBuddy Plus: removes ads.

Delete your data: email privacy@gasbuddy.app with the random identifier from any report you wish removed and we will delete it.

Children

GasBuddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
